Matrix Items – Ribbon Toolbar
Genesis edition only.
The contextual ribbon toolbar for the Matrix Items window provides you with access to all of the functions that allow you to add, remove, and manage the Matrix Items within a Matrix.

GENERAL GROUP

Paste |
Clicking the Paste button will paste the clipboard contents into the grid. |
|
Paste Cell |
Clicking the Paste Cell button will paste the contents of the clipboard into the selected cells. |
|
Copy |
Clicking the Copy button will copy the selected Matrix Item information to the clipboard. This allows the data to be pasted within Expert Estimation or into an external application. |
|
Update Matrix Attributes |
Clicking the Update Matrix Attributes button allows you to update the Matrix Attributes for each Matrix Item with data copied from an external application without pasting. |

Undo |
Clicking the Undo button reverses the last change made to the data. |
|
Redo |
The Redo button becomes available when an undo action is performed and is used to reverse the undo action. |
|
Properties |
Opens the Properties pane to the right-hand side of the window. This will display the details of the currently selected Matrix Item and allows editing multiple matrix item properties at the same time. |

Add Matrix Item |
Opens a dialog window that allows you to add a single Matrix Item to the Matrix Items window. |
|
Add Matrix Items |
Opens a dialog window that allows you to add multiple Matrix Items to the Matrix Items window, based on defined Horizontal and Vertical bounds and increment. |
|
Remove Matrix Items |
Clicking the Remove Matrix Item button will permanently remove the selected Matrix Item(s) from the Matrix window. Note: You cannot remove a Matrix Item if it is being used within the project. |

View Cost Estimate |
Clicking the View Cost Estimate button will open a new tab displaying the Cost Estimate Template assigned to the selected Matrix Item. |

Matrix Defines |
Opens the Matrix Defines window, allowing you to create a range of Matrix Defines to be used within the Matrix. |
|
Matrix Attributes |
Opens the Matrix Attributes window, allowing you to create a range of Matrix Attributes to be used within the Matrix. |
|
Cost Estimate Templates |
Opens the Cost Estimate Templates window, allowing you to manage the Cost Estimate Templates available in the Matrix. |
|
Export Matrix to Excel |
Opens a dialog window that allows you to save the current list of Matrix items to a standard Excel file. |
|
View Usage Tree |
Displays the usage tree for the selected Matrix Items. The Usage Tree window is used to view where the Matrix Item is used. |

Restore Layout |
If columns have been removed, adjusted or relocated, clicking the Restore Layout button will restore columns to their default layout. |

Filter Editor |
Opens the Filter Editor to allow users to modify the contents of the grid so that only items that match the specific criteria set will be displayed. |

Column Chooser |
Clicking the Column Chooser button will open a dialogue box that will allow users to add or remove columns from the grid. |
|
Search |
Clicking the Search function will display a field in the top right-hand corner of the grid, that will allow users to search the current window for the text entered. |
