A reference number that can be used to quickly identify the item, this can be supplied by the client to match internal records.

Description

Provides a detailed explanation of what the Direct Cost Schedule item is representing in the project.

Formula

The Formula column displays the formula applied to a Direct Cost Schedule item.

Quantity

The Quantity column displays the number of units required to complete the Direct Cost Schedule item.

Unit

The Unit column represents the Unit of measure for the Direct Cost Schedule item.

Resource Name

Specifies the name of the Resource applied to the item at the schedule level (if a Resource has been assigned).

Matrix Item

Specifies the name of the Matrix Item assigned to the schedule item.

Estimated Rate

The Estimated Rate column shows the per unit rate of the Direct Cost Schedule item.

Estimated Total

The Estimated Total represents the cost total of the Direct Cost Schedule item.

This is calculated by using a Cost Estimate, a resource applied to the Schedule Item, or both.

Alternatively, when using Genesis edition, the value can be built exclusively from a Matrix Item assigned to the Direct Cost Schedule item.

Sell Rate

The unit rate that the client will be charged for the item.

This is calculated during the Spread Calculation and is present as part of the Spread Results window.

Sell Total

The total amount that the client will be charged for the item.

This is calculated by multiplying the Sell Rate by the Quantity of the item.

If the item is rate only the Sell Total column will be blank.

Effective Markup

Displays the current percentage of Markup applied to the item.

This is calculated by subtracting the Estimated Rate from the Sell Rate and then dividing by the Estimated Rate.

Nomination Type

The Nomination Type column represents the type of nomination being applied to the Direct Cost Schedule item.

The available nomination types consist of:
No Nomination, Nominated Rate, Nominated Percentage Markup, Nominate at Estimated Rate, Nominate at Zero Rate and Nominated Total.

Nomination Value

The Nomination Value column allows for a value to be entered representing the nomination to apply to a Direct Cost Schedule item in relation to the Nomination Type specified.

Note: This field will only become available when the nomination type has been set to either, Nominated Percentage Markup, Nominated Rate or Nominated Total.

Zero Text Value

The Zero Text Value column allows you to specify a short phrase that will be displayed on the Submission Schedule report if an items Sell Total is $0.00.

Sell Rate Locked

The Sell Rate Locked column shows whether or not the Sell Rate of an item has been locked at a particular value.

This means that regardless of changes to the project value or the Schedule Item Estimated Total, the Spread Calculation will always use the Sell Rate set for the Direct Cost Schedule Item.

A Sell Rate Lock is applied from within the Properties Pane.

Receives Overhead

Determines whether a Direct Cost Schedule item will receive value during a Spread Calculation from the Overhead total associated with a project.

Receives Margin

Determines whether a Direct Cost Schedule item will receive value during a Spread Calculation from the Margin value associated with a project.

Genesis and Express editions only.

Receives Preadjustments

Determines whether a Direct Cost Schedule item will receive value during a Spread Calculation from the Pre-margin Adjustment value associated with a project.

Genesis and Express editions only.

Receives Postadjustments

Determines whether a Direct Cost Schedule item will receive value during a Spread Calculation from the Post-margin Adjustment value associated with a project.

Receives Risk and Opportunities

Determines whether a Direct Cost Schedule item will receive value during a Spread Calculation from the Risk and Opportunities value associated with a project.
