Nomination Types

When the default spread calculation is processed, the items will receive a proportional amount of spread from each pool, based on the item’s value.

Instead of allowing the application to control the amount of value applied to a Contributing or Rate Only items, sometimes you will want to nominate a final sell value. To achieve this value you can define a specific percentage, rate or total to be used, within the Nomination Types on the Spread Nomination window.

NOMINATION TYPES

You can change the Nomination type for an item by using the drop-down available in either the Nomination Type column or the Properties Pane.

Below are the types of nominations that can be applied to your items within the project.

DESCRIPTION

No Nomination

The No Nomination type indicates that the item is not nominated to have a specific value and will receive a normal proportional spread from the Spread Pools available.

This option is selected by default.

Nominated Percentage
Markup

When the Nominated Percentage Markup type is selected, the Total Cost of the item is increased (or decreased) by the user-defined percentage to calculated the Sell Rate of the item.

Nominated Rate

When the Nominated Rate type is selected, the Sell Rate of the item will be the value defined by the user.

The Sell Total is then calculated by multiplying the Nominated Rate by the Quantity of the item.

Nominated Total

When the Nominated Total type is selected, the Sell Total of the item will be the value defined by the user.

The Sell Rate is then calculated by dividing the Nominated Total by the Quantity of the item.

Nominate at Estimated Rate

When the Nominate at Estimated Rate type is selected, the value of the Estimated Rate for the item will be used as the Sell Rate.

Nominate at Zero Rate

When the Nominate at Zero Rate type is selected, the Sell Rate of the selected item(s) is set to a value of 0.00.

ZERO TEXT VALUE

In circumstances where the Sell Rate of an item is set to 0.00, Expert Estimation can replace the zero value in the Spread Results and Submission Schedule Report, with a piece of text. This is useful to provide clarification or identification as to why the value of the item is 0.00.

Specifying a Zero Text Value for an item can be done by entering the text in the Zero Text Value column within the grid or from the Properties Pane.
