Quotation Comparisons Quote Details – Grid Columns

The following is a list of columns available within the Quotation Comparison window where information can be entered.

When editing in this window, fields that can be modified are highlighted by the edit icon  in the column header.

NAME

DESCRIPTION

Order Number

Provides a specific order to display the resources used in the comparison.

The order number is set within the Quotation Comparison – Resources window.

Name

Represents the name for each resource being used within the Quotation Comparison.

Unit

The Unit column displays the corresponding unit of measure for the resource.

Quote Quantity

The Quote Quantity displays a consistent quantity being used for the resources within the comparison.

This value is set within the Quotation Comparison – Resources window.

Rate

The Rate column is used to enter the per unit rate of the resources provided by the quoter.

When a quoter is marked as selected the Rate entered here will be transferred to the Base Rate of the Resource in the Resource Explorer.

Currency

Allows you to define the currency that the resource’s rate is supplied in.

Different currencies and their conversion rates are managed within the Project Properties – Currency window.

Calculated Total

The Total value of the resource not including the independent cost estimate value.

This is calculated by multiplying the Quote Quantity against the Calculated Rate.

% Independent Cost Estimate

Represents the percentage of the independent cost estimate value that will be proportioned to this resource as part of the calculations.

The result is shown in the Independent Cost Estimate Value column and is a component of the Rate Adjustment calculation.

Instead of manually entering a value, the Automatic Proportioning button in the ribbon menu will automatically calculate the percentage for each resource listed.

Independent Cost Estimate Value

This column displays the value of the Independent Cost Estimate that will be assigned to the quoted resource.

Total Including Independent Value

This column displays the sum of the Calculated Total and Independent Cost Estimate Value columns.

Calculated Rate including Independent Value

The Calculated Rate including the Independent Cost Estimate Value will effectively be the rate that will be used by your Resource to generate a Calculated Rate, if this quotation was to be selected.

Comments

Additional information regarding the pricing information for the resource can be entered into the Comment column.

Calculated Rate

The Calculated Rate column represents the rate of the resource prior to adding the Independent Cost Estimate Value.

This rate is calculated using the currency conversion, factors, and tax impost values.

Description

Displays additional information directly associated with the resource.

Factor

The factor allows you to include a factor specific to the Resource. This value is ultimately combined with the Quoter’s factor to produce an Effective factor for calculating the rate to use for a Resource.

Effective Factor

The Effective Factor is calculated by multiplying the Quoter Factor column by the Factor columns value.

The result of this is included in the calculation of the calculated rate.

Factored Quantity

Displays the quantity used to calculate the Calculated Total and Calculated Rate including Independent Value.

This is calculated by multiplying the Quote Quantity by the Quote Quantity Factor.

Independent Rate Adjustment

The Independent Rate Adjustment represents the Rate difference between the Calculated Rate for a quoted Resource and the Calculated Rate including Independent Cost Estimate value.

The value entered here is transferred to the Rate Adjustment column in the Resource Explorer for the quoted resource (if the quoter is selected).

Quote Quantity Factor

The Quote Quantity Factor allows you to make an adjustment to the Quoted Quantity for a specific resource.

The value entered here is used in the calculation of the Factored Quantity.

Quoters Factor

Set from within the Quoter Factor column in the Quotation Comparison Details window, this value allows you factor (up or down) the entire quote.

Rate Adjustment

The Rate Adjustment column displays any adjustments applied to the resources calculated rate.

Rate Source

Rates for a resource in your current quoter can be linked to an existing rate supplied by another quoter. This can be achieved by using the Rate Source column.

You are only able to link to a value that has been manually entered.

Tax Impost

You can accommodate for an additional tax that could be applied to a resource by entering a percentage in the Tax Impost column.

This is included in the calculation of the calculated rate by multiplying the quoters rate by one plus the percentage of tax impost (10% is represented as 0.1).
