Cost Estimate Tags

Genesis and Express only.

Tag columns are Cost Estimate specific columns that give you the ability to group and analyse Costs Estimate lines throughout a project.

Any alpha-numeric text combination can be entered into the Tags column of the Cost Schedule item as long as the item state is unfinished.

Cost Estimate window - Tags Column

Unlike User Defined Columns, each Cost Estimate line can have multiple tags associated with it. This separation is achieved by entering a comma after each tag entered.

Once a tag has been used once in any form of Cost Estimate, it becomes available in all other Cost Estimates, regardless of type. All available Tags can be accessed via the Ctrl + Space keyboard shortcut from within the Tags column.

ANALYSING AND REPORTING TAGS

There are two Cost Estimate specific formulae that utilise the information set in the Tag column. The SmTag and SmqTag formula, sum the Total or Quantity of the Cost Estimate Lines that have been allocated the tag contained within the formula used.

While not shown in the Direct or Overhead Cost Estimates Report, the Tags used within your project are included as a part of the CSV export of these reports.
