Subcontractor Comparisons – Details
Genesis edition only.
The Subcontractor Comparisons Details provides you with an area to analyse the values of the different quotes provided within the comparison, the variances between them and the ability to select the subcontractor whose rates will be used throughout the project.
From this window, you can add additional subcontractors to the comparison, access the list of Direct Cost Schedule items that are being quoted for or review the pricing supplied by the subcontractors within the comparison.

MANAGING SUBCONTRACTORS
By default, all comparisons have at least one subcontractor called Self-Performing Subcontractor that is automatically added to the comparison upon creation. This subcontractor represents the original self-performed values of the Direct Cost Schedule items included in the comparison and cannot be edited.
Note: When a Direct Cost Schedule item is added to a comparison, a resource will be used to store the rate of the subcontractor that is marked as Selected.
Once all subcontractors have had their rates and totals added to the comparison, you can then decide on the values to be used throughout the project. This is done by marking a subcontractor as selected. Once a subcontractor is marked as selected, the following changes are applied to each of the items included in the comparison:
- If an item cost estimate is used, these lines appear at the top of the Direct Cost Item’s cost estimate.
- The resource associated with the comparison item is added to the last line of the Direct Cost Item’s cost estimate.
- The Base Rate of the resource associated with the comparison item is changed to the Quoted Total Including Independent Value divided by the Direct Cost Schedule item’s quantity and is made read-only.
- The State of the resource is changed to Confirmed and made read-only.
- The Subcontractor/Supplier field of the resource is populated with the name of the selected subcontractor and made read-only.
Subcontractors with a lower calculated total than the selected subcontractor are indicated by red text, while subcontractors that have a higher calculated total change to green text.
From the Details window, you can also access the Manage Items window to change the Direct Cost Schedule items included in the quote.
