Create Project From SavePoint

The Create Project from SavePoint action in the Project SavePoints window allows you to create a new project from the currently selected SavePoint. This gives you the ability to return to a previous point in time of the project and take a new direction with the tender without having to revert values manually.

Note: You can only Create Projects based on SavePoints using SavePoints that include a Project Backup.

SavePoints with Project Backups give you the capability to create a new project based off of the state of the project at the point in time the SavePoint was created. The new project is not linked in any way to the original project. Projects that are created based on Project SavePoints are given the same name as their base project with the Project SavePoint name appended to the end. The new project is then stored in the same directory as the base project.

Example: A project with a name New Wilson Creek Bridge which has a SavePoint named Revision 1, when a project is created based on the Revision 1 SavePoint, the new project’s name is New Wilson Creek Bridge (SavePoint-Revision 1).

When Creating a Project based on a SavePoint with a Project Backup (including previous SavePoints), you have the option of including previous Project SavePoints in the new project. This option appears as a dialog box displayed after clicking the Create Project from SavePoint Ribbon menu item.

Including previous SavePoints in the new project creates a project based on the selected SavePoint which also contains all SavePoints created before the selected SavePoint.
