Cash Flow Scenario Options – Advanced/Deferred Costs

Genesis edition only.

The Advanced/Deferred Costs section of the Cash Flow Scenario Options provides you with the ability to include per-day cost amounts that contribute to a Cash Flow Scenario's lifetime. Advance/Deferred Costs can represent a mobilisation payment or a forward contingency for additional resources that are required for an activity.

To change the information in this section, click the Edit () button in the Cash Flow Options ribbon toolbar.

Note: Value added as an Advanced/Deferred Cost represents a lump sum to a Cash Flow scenario and does not relate to the overall Project or Resource Type Totals for a project.

ADVANCED/DEFERRED COSTS

Clicking the Add button creates a new Advanced/Deferred Cost row within the window:

FIELD

DESCRIPTION

Cost Date

Represents the unique Date in which a total value for an Advanced/Deferred Cost is incurred.

Description

The Description is an optional field and can provide additional information regarding the purpose of the Advanced/Deferred Cost added to the Cash Flow Scenario.

Value

The Value column represents the value of the Advanced/Deferred Cost.

This value is either a positive (addition) or negative (deduction) to the cost of the Project for the selected Cash Flow Scenario.

Cumulative Value

The Cumulative Value displays the combined total for all Advanced or Deferred Costs applied to the Cash Flow Scenario up to the recorded Cost Date.

For a balanced Cash Flow Scenario (a scenario that does not incur a deficit or surplus based on Advanced/Deferred Costs) the cumulative value on the final line should equate to zero so that the results are balanced.

For ease of reference with larger lists of Advanced/Deferred Costs, a summary line is displayed below the table to display whether the Cash Flow Scenario is balanced or not.

Note: This column is read-only.
