The General section of the Options window allows access to settings that control various aspects of the program that are not specific to any particular window and apply broadly across the program.
General
| Option | Description |

| Open Last Project | When this option is checked, Cost To Complete will open the project that was open when the application was last closed. |
| Prompt Before Closing Cost to Complete | Displays a confirmation dialog when closing the application to prevent accidental closure. |
| Monitor Performance | This option allows Cost To Complete to monitor performance metrics of the application to assist in diagnosing performance related problems.
Note: Actual data contained in the project is never recorded. |
| Use Recycle Bin for Deleted Projects | When this option is checked, any deleted projects will be placed in the Windows Recycle Bin as opposed to permanently deleting the file.
Note: Non-local projects will not be sent to the recycle bin no matter what the setting. |
| Warn when Deleted Records Exceed | Setting this value will allow the application to warn users when the database contains the defined percentage of deleted records.
Note: Excessive deleted records can slow down the performance of Cost To Complete. |
| User Name for Reports | The text value entered in this field will be shown on the right-hand side of the footer for all report pages. |
| Use Automatic Program Notification | Ticking this option will enable Cost To Complete to analyse the setup of the application and notify the user if any issues are detected. |
| Language | Allows you to define the language the application will displayed.
Note: English (Australian) and Malay are the currently available options. |
| Copy Special Column Titles | This option will include the column headings with any data copied from the data-grids using the Copy Special function. |
| XP Themes | When this options is ticked, Cost To Complete will reduce the harshness of the colour settings. |
| Taskbar to Manage Windows | When this option is checked, a task bar will appear at the top of the application window making it easier to manage windows open within the application. |
| Large Icons | Checking this box will enable large sized icons in the application toolbars |
| Browser Font | Allows you to define the default font styling for all windows within the application.
By default this is set to MS Sans Serif, 8 point. |
| Report Logo | A Company logo can be applied here, allowing for the branding and customisation of reports.
The image format must be a Bitmap (BMP). The applied image will be displayed in the top left-hand corner of the report header. |
