Options – General

The General section of the Options window allows access to settings that control various aspects of the program that are not specific to any particular window and apply broadly across the program.

Note: In the top right hand corner of this window there is a Reset To Default option which will revert any changes in this window to their default values, this can only be undone by pressing Cancel or re-importing a copy of the desired User Settings through the import button.

AUTOMATIC EDITING

NAME

DESCRIPTION

Attempt to automatically enter edit mode

This option will attempt to open relevant windows in a state ready for editing.
Note: Only available in windows with an Edit  button in the ribbon menu.

PROMPT ON CLOSE

NAME

DESCRIPTION

Prompt on Close

Displays a confirmation dialog when closing the application to prevent accidental closure.

USE REDUCED VISUALS

NAME

DESCRIPTION

Use Reduced Visuals

Disables the window animations, overlays and style enhancement within Expert Estimation.

This option requires an application restart in order to take effect.

Note: This can improve performance in Remote Desktop and Terminal Services sessions.

LEGACY OPTIONS

DESCRIPTION

Use F10 and F11 to toggle the state of a Cost Schedule Items and Group Resources

Allows the use of hotkeys to toggle the Status of Group Resources as well as Direct and Overhead Cost Schedule items. F10 will toggle between Finish and Unfinish, and F11 will toggle between Check and Unfinished.

These were regularly used shortcuts in previous versions of Expert Estimation (2014 and prior).

LOGGING OPTIONS

Log Level

The drop-down box allows the level of detail in Expert Estimations diagnostic logging to be altered.

Note: This is for diagnostic purposes only. Pronamics Support may request this to be changed in order to provide more information around program operation.

AUDIO OPTIONS

DESCRIPTION

Play Sound

The drop-down menu will allow for sounds to be enabled for certain application features.
